1: Who's behind «Line of Poetry?»
We are a small team located in Oslo, Norway. We wanted to create a website for writing, sharing and enriching poems in a nice and user-friendly way. In the fall of 2017, we started designing and developing «Line of Poetry». The site was launched on October 1, 2019.
2: Does «Line of Poetry» own my poems?
No! You have all the rights and full control over your poems. «Line of Poetry» is a portal for publishing your poetry, but you can do whatever you want with your work eg publishing, sharing, deleting etc.
3: Can I publish others' poems?
It is allowed to publish only your own poems.
4: Do you have any plans to support more languages?
Yes. We will support more languages in the future. French and Italian are in the nearest plans.
5: Why don't you show advertising?
We believe advertising destroys the user experience. We believe that membership is a much better alternative to funding our work.
6: Do you share or sell information about users?
No. We never sell personal data, and there is no advertising on «Line of Poetry». If you log in with Google or Facebook, we receive only your account ID, name, email address and profile picture from them, and we never post anything on your behalf. A few companies help us run the site, for example with hosting, email and payments. Our privacy policy lists them.
7: Can I sign up with my Google account?
Yes. If you choose «Continue with Google», we receive only your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and we use them only to create your account and log you in. We never post anything on your behalf and do not access any other Google data. Our privacy policy explains this in detail.
8: How can I support «Line of Poetry»?
You can upgrade your membership to support development of the site. «Line of Poetry» spends money on further development and paying for services such as image storage, recording, map usage, database and servers.
9: What happens if I downgrade my membership to a free one?
You can downgrade to free membership anytime. Nothing will be removed og hidden as a result of it. All already published poems and books with all the content will be safely kept.
10: How safe is it to pay for the membership by a credit card?
It is very safe! We use Braintree (developed by PayPal) for storing credit card information. We only perform transactions, but do not have access to any details of your credit card.
