Tease

The colours fit so well, tones of her skin,And the gloss on her nails...Of all the shades I scrolled through,A flesh like haze spoke to me subtly. A pearly shimmer that would make a Photograph. Sitting static on a grey afternoon, it came. And as it opened, so did a stream ofRomantic memories. Tumult and intimacy. A hand resting gently, perhaps evenFloating as it’s poised behind her knee. Only weeks ago, I saw the same here,Glancing to the left as I drove with aMind full of tangled feelings. I could touch it like I could the numbers,Transmission manual, a fleeting lookAt the lady I tried to capture in canvas. White at the centre, close enough toSpark. Pale enough to haunt me.The visions still tread my dreams. Though I won’t think to complain. A red strand lays wound, a little frayed,But still precious. Hidden in a pull downDraw. Another between two pages. Pressed in the scrawlings of a strange,Disheveled mind. Aching for her to speak.
