Varying degrees of love
I'd like to believe that what was right todaycan be nonsense tomorrow, and I'd like to believe that Zeus didn't condemn us to search for our other half, I'm searching for myself, but not in addition to anyone else, Maybe it isn't such a good idea to go looking for a four leaf clover in a haystack of ordinary clovers, why can't we ever see what's right in front of us until it isn't there? Maybe you and I can be somwhere in between special and ordinary, I didn't want to believe in fairy tales anymore, there's no such thing as "the one", but when you said "I want you"I believed in all of it like religion. We're always falling in and out of varying degrees of love, like the deep purr of a black cat, it settles on your chest, makes your hair stand up straight, like the deep purr of a black catit was pleasant to let it sit there, until something lodged itself in my throat, a heaviness, a slight itch, and i wondered whether it was always like this? had i just not noticed it before? I can't remember the last time I was able to breathe, and maybe that's because I'm filled with regret,if i had known our time was so limited, I would've wanted to hear you say it one more time, to let my heart beat to your pace for the last time,i didn't know it back then, that there would be a last time so soon. I believed in fairy tales, so that I could believe in us for a little while longer, to hear those words so that I could breathe, but tomorrow is already hereand I'm no one's other half.
