Storm in Africa

The rising wind whips my curtains,Tugs leaves from swaying branches,Playing a game of “He-Loves-MeHe-Loves-Me-Not”.Sulky sky broods and glowers. The Thunder God flicks his fiery tongue
I hear his belly rumble far away in the forestAs he drapes the blue hills with his cloudy cloak.Listen to the hiss of rainAs it kisses the glistening ground. With each drop, a benediction,A promise fulfilled.Washing clean the grime of these streetsPreparing the ground for new life.©Sadiechild 2005
