Quiet Please

This is a poem to help people understand more about tinnitus and how it can affect those who suffer from it.

Like an alarm clock ringing that never abates. On my shattered nerves it grinds and it grates. Then it pushes me gently out on to the edge.Enticing me to stop it just step off the ledge. Now silence is a stranger to my overactive brain. My screaming companion sends me insane.Incessant endless irritating whineFor one moments peace I would pay any fine.Who knows what price I’d be willing to pay.To evict my tormentor send him on his way.No peace & no quiet it's so hard to explain. You think that it's stopped then it starts up againTo think that dying would be a welcome release. If It helped me to make this living torture cease. There is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.Sometimes I have been on the verge of suicide. To silence the persistent noise to make it go away.Peace and quiet is all I ask what more can I say. By Mr Mo
