The Longest Day

The Sparrow in my earlier poem is writing this! Not a great first day of summer here. Hopefully the weather would get better.

I flew down early from my treeI heard it’s the longest day.The Northern Hemisphereleans most towards the sun this day.The sun smiles intenseGiving the longest day.But I don’t see the sun at allIt’s hiding behind the clouds. The clouds have got heavyThey’re sad and tears pouring down.My flying from tree to treeSinging with joy kissing flowersIs hampered with cold weather.I had so many plans for this dayI wanted to fly to StonehengeSee happy people dancing togetherDrumming and campingTo watch the sun riseTo welcome the start of summer.
