Another stranger helps me!
Have you heard the story of The Good Samaritan in the Bible?Do you believe total strangers help more than your closest friends?Twice this year strangers have been the kindest to me.The most recent episode was connected with my car yet again! The mechanic in a garage was pulling wool over my eyes.He kept saying he needed to order more parts.Increased the total amount I had to pay.I asked him not to do any repairs and that I would collect my car. He refused to release the car as instructed.He then asked me to collect it without an exhaust which was illegal.Kept it outside his workshop during the whole weekend.He was clearly bullying and harassing me! The whole weekend I was traumatised,Was afraid to speak to this monstrous man.I desperately needed someone to come with me.This was very unlike me. People who harass can read the fear on your face.I asked two immediate neighbours to help me out.They didn’t want to be neighbourly.Gave me excuses and didn’t come to my aid. I then wrote a post in our local neighbourhood website.Asked if anyone could help in taking me to the garage.I was pleasantly surprised how kind-hearted people were,At least five people said they would take me to the garage. On Monday morning a kind gentleman picked me up from home.Took me to the garage, stood next to me while I spoke to the mechanic.Picked up my old exhaust pipe, which was lying on floor of the workshop,Drove my car with me to a reliable garage to get it fixed. The following day this kind person drove me again to the new garage.The total cost was much less than the previous one.When I drove my car back home this kind person drove behind me,Gave me thumbs up as I took the turning to go home. What a star this stranger was!No ulterior motive except to help a fellow human being.There are so many kind people around who we do not know of,It certainly reminded me the story of The Good Samaritan in the Bible.
