Reflection
While most people had at least one person to celebrate Christmas withI did not. While they opened presents and others opened their presentsI did not. While they had a feast with turkey and other festive food on the tableI did not. While they pulled a Christmas cracker and wore a silly hat and found a gift in itI did not. While people had someone to talk to on Christmas dayHooray I had one phone call!I know Christmas is different this year and number of people spent Christmas alone. But my Christmas has been like this for the last ten years or more. Some close to me couldn’t send a greeting even online unless I sent it.I’m not complaining, simply stating facts, maybe a bit sad, but I am used to this. But each year I keep saying to myself “hey I can do what I like on Christmas Day!”For that matter, any day.Although it does get lonely sometimes. The true meaning of Christmas is its Christ’s birthday. The gifts, the food are not important, although nice to have. There are millions around the world who have nothing on Christmas Day.What is important is, you say, “Happy Birthday Jesus” and give homage to Him.Show kindness and love to others especially during this time. And I think I have done this in abundance.
