British Airways Boeing 747, Queen of the Skies took off from Heathrow for the last time yesterday 8 October. I felt rather emotional.
Goodbye my dear old friend, Queen of the Skies farewell.You started working in the sixties, and worked day and night as well.I had the pleasure of meeting and flying in style with you.You made me feel so high, gliding like an eagle was swell.We had some bumpy rides when gale came between us sometimes.But we got back again somehow, and landed safe on land.I know you had many friendships many that I cannot count.I can not blame them dear friend, as your beauty is beyond compare.I remained faithful to you, and you took me to beautiful sights.You didn’t escape the virus, fate came quicker than we thought.You flew bravely for one last time, to be taken to a graveyard.Your body parts are to be used, to bring life to your new friends.I had a tear in my eye, as I watched your last voyage.You took off in great style, and disappeared in the skies.They call you Boeing 747, I prefer to call you Queen of the Skies.I would always treasure the memories, so over and out dear friend!
