Linda Frances

My Blue Guardian Angel

I wrote this poem following Elizabeth’s exercise in which she said:
“Grab a household object from anywhere, whatever is close within reach, and examine it. Look at it, feel it, notice how it feels, is it nice to touch? What images does it bring up? Notice how it smells, are there any distinguishing features etc. After some time doing this, attach some memories to it, either triggered by its appearance, or personal ones/attachments etc.”
Strangely enough, I too have an angel within my reach and it’s round the doorknob of my sitting room!

“Hi, I’m the Blue Angel who hangs on Linda’s door.I didn’t look like this in Autumn last year.We were sitting in a shelf in a shop, in a pack with other face masks.I wanted to be of use, so I prayed to God that someone would buy.” “It was our lucky day, when Linda bought the pack one day.But she didn’t use as face masks, she had other ideas. She started putting up her Christmas Tree,But didn’t have an angel to go on top.” “Linda took two of us out, and made us in to one.She carefully made my head, by tying two strings into a bow. This made me look wearing a long dress,With flared sleeves which looked grand.” “The two remaining strings were used,To hang me anywhere She liked.Wow! The biggest surprise I had,When I went up on Linda’s Christmas Tree!” Yes, this my special Christmas Angel. As I hung it up I was thinking,She has come to look after me,No virus attacks me and she guards me night and day. Look at her blue dress with silver spots that shine. There’s lace right round the dress. She has wings to fly anywhere she likes,Although you don’t see her eyes. When Christmas Season was over,I hung it on my door in the front room.Where she would always stay,As my special guardian Angel!
