My Best Friend

On this World Poetry Day, 21 March 2021, a poem about my best friend.

What will I do without you?One bus running every hour, from the village to the nearest town. How will I carry my heavy shopping? When a taxi cost £8 for a mile and a half!Apart from the convenience, you're a great joy to be with.  You know all my moods from being happy to sad to fear. You’ve seen me smiling and laughing singing along to music. You know all the music I like and groove with me but safely. You have seen me in tears but took me home safely. You took care of me by taking me to hospital and back. You’re more reliable than a human and never once let me down. Your high tech and safety are very impressive. And so is the computer in charge of engine monitor. You look so stylish in shining silver and leather inside. You’ll be seven years soon and the longest friend I’ve had.I tried to find someone new for the last two years,But I haven’t had the heart to let you go.
