Love of Poetry

I have been feeling somewhat flat lately and I wrote this in about 10 minutes without thinking much.

I have written with my heart and soul. This thing we call poetry.I first wrote a poem when I was about 15In my autograph for people to sign. And it went like this:“Write a few lines to remember,Because remembrance is the sweetest flowerThat grows in the garden of memories.”I remember my family laughing at it.And I never wrote anything again. Since I became a teacher,I wrote poetry for childrenDuring their English lessons. In 2012, I think I had a nervous breakdown. But recovered fully in six months. It was my sheer self determinationWith prayers to go with itThat I recovered so quick. In 2013 I wrote a poem about itWhich was the first poemI published in Facebook. I wrote a few every now and then. But was busy with my teaching job. I joined Line of Poetry in 2020.The bulk of my poems were written since then.It was to keep myself busyDuring the dreaded lockdown.I’m not sure how good my poetry is.All I know is I write with my heart and soul.I think when I reach 100th poem,I shall retire for a while. As I see to myself very clearly,That I’m not so liked now..•*¨ ¸.•*¨¸.•´ ¸.•´¸¸.•¨¯`•.•:*¨¨*:•..•:*¨¨*:
