Hailstorm

It was a cloudless night, warm wind blowing on my faceThe endless humming sound, sleepless muggy nightsThe air was stale and I felt breathless lying downQuick I opened a widow, not a drop of air I feltOutdoor was warming up to the early morning sunIt looks like another scorching day without any blowing windI went back to bed, to get a few more hours of sleep. I ventured out in the noon, visited the nearby parkIce cream van was inviting, I had a vanilla cone with a flakeIt was melting down my hand, my palate couldn’t savour it wellMy feet carried towards the riverbank, when I heard the growling soundI carried on walking further, when raindrops began to fallIt was refreshing to feel, cool droplets falling on meI started to walk under trees as the rain down poured with gustsMy enjoyment didn’t last when my clothes got soaking wetAs I was driving home, hailstones began to fallI was amazed to see, they were big as golf ballsI’m glad I came home before my windscreen was smashed!
