Daydreams

I don't normally write romantic poems. I surprised myself when I wrote this poem, certainly publishing it. It took me sometime to do it.
I met this person briefly, and it took a while for the romantic thoughts to reach my head!

My recent daydreams have taken me back a thousand yearsLove, fondness, tenderness, and warmthIntimacy and sensuous feelings that faded away with yearsHave come back again. Who is pulling my heart strings?Cupid cannot wait to shoot his arrow on meHe has missed his targets countless timesWhoever you are is welcome to stay. He has piercing brown eyes or are they blue?He cannot hide his flirtatious smile as he speaksHis affectionate lips are appealingI wonder what it feels like to be kissed by him. On that stormy day, my tears fell like rain dropsEvery bone in my body was aching and I couldn’t moveAnd there he was standing by my doorHe hugged me and my head rested on his chest. His strong arms held me gently and closerComforting me that he always would care for meWe stood there motionless for awhileHe then lifted my chin and kissed me. My daydreams haven’t yet reached the next stageWould I see him in my real dreams at nightWhere my repressed thoughts would come to lightI hope it’s sweet dreams and not a nightmare!
