Cricket is back in the East

Skipper Joe Root scored two hundred and twenty-eight.Young debutant Dan Lawrence scored seventy-three.Dom Bess got a fifer and Sri Lanka was all out for hundred and thirty-five.England boys won the first test match by seven wickets, hooray! In the dusty humid weather with over thirty centigrade heat.England played with all their might and showed how resilient they can be.They are in their cricket bubble and away from their families.Playing behind closed doors and entertaining us. The second test started after a few days at four am our time.Jimmy the ‘Burnley Express’ took six wickets in the first innings. The best seam bowler in England with his wiry physic.Skipper Joe Root was in good form again and scored hundred and eighty-six. Another win for England and they lifted the Moose Trophy. As I watched the game on TV it was snowing heavily around me.But the scenes in Sri Lanka were sunny and warm near the sea.The grounds near the fort with coconut trees swaying. Some may not follow cricket and feel it’s a boring game. But it’s an intelligent game and can take five days to complete. But there are one day matches with nail biting ends.Perhaps you may care to watch one of them someday. As England say goodbye to Sri Lanka, they move on to sunny India. To play more test matches and one day games as well.See you again soon in about ten days.Be safe my beloved team who won’t be back home till March.
