AND THEN THERE WAS ONE!
I like Agatha Christie’s stories and remember a story named ‘And then there were none.’ As I was walking to my destination today this story came to my head and lines for my next poem came flooding to my brain. When I arrived at my destination, I started writing it on my mobile phone so that I wouldn’t forget it. Here is that poem.
She came to a faraway country thrillingWith mother and two other siblingsTo be with father who was workingAND THEN THERE WERE FIVE! Father left this world after thirteen years in this landOn that fateful Friday, the thirteenth unplannedIt was a gloomy rainy day and the sadness she could not withstandAND THEN THERE WERE FOUR! Mother joined him thirteen years later when millennium was dawnIt was unexpected and her spirits were so low and withdrawnMother was buried three weeks later on a very sombre dawnAND THERE WERE THREE! Years passed when a sibling said she didn’t want to know herIt broke her heart beyond repair as she loved and cared for herTo this day she doesn’t know why harsh words were said to herAND THEN THERE WERE TWO! On the same day, the other sibling said the same to herShe doesn’t know where they are, and the sadness overwhelms herIt’s been eight years since they left, and she’s been all alone hereAND THEN THERE WAS ONE!
