A Special Bond
This was a story line in a television series I’ve seen, and this part of the story really touched my heart. True stories like this happened during the war which shows that a person could be the enemy in the army you fight against, but as individuals have compassion to help the enemy in certain situations such as this. If every person had love and compassion in their hearts, a compromise can be reached and no need for war! Maybe I’m dreamer!
We were enemies on the ground.Fighting each other’s army.I met you up in the air,When you lost your ground control,And didn’t know your way home.I safely guided you, by flying ahead of you.As we saluted goodbye,We were friends up in the air. When the war was over, we briefly kept in touch.But didn’t last long as pressure of life took over us.As I lay in bed a week man, I wrote to you one last time.To come and visit me before I depart.I was surprised when you appeared next to my bed.“You got my letter and you found me!” My weak voice said in delight.We shook hands and saluted for the very last time.WE were enemies on the ground, but friends up in the air!
