A Taste
Today we shared an apple, just the two of us,half each.As if we were Adam and Eve.So delicious.Pure velvet beneath a crisp skin.A taste —like autumn.Yes, autumn. In it, nostalgia, scents, flavours, memories. You said you used to take applesfrom this very treeto school.Well, look at us,we've grown old,yet the apple tree is still the same. And its fruit is just the same.As it was then. And autumn is still the same.As it is now. ©️ zalkauskas MMXXVI
