Perfectionism
Always trying, never reaching The high standards that I setAnd the more and more I tryThe more frustrated I seem to get It’s just never quite good enoughAlways something wrong I really need it to be perfectWhy is it taking me so long? I continue to try harderBut there’s no enjoyment anymoreIf it’s not perfect it’s not funMy self critical thoughts roar I seem to be stuck in this cycle Of a desperate need to reachA state of absolute perfection But it’s really the mistakes that teach My mistakes are how I learn and growTo be perfect is no reality I need to enjoy where I am nowIn all of it’s totality
