Titanic: 111 years on
It is very sad about the five who have lost their lives. Particularly moved by the young student and a Glasgow University, having my own young lad about to embark on the same journey.
A tribute.
They said nothing could sink herThey tested God and manWhen they set of on their voyageDreaming of a distant landBut she hit an icebergAnd slowly she did sinkAnd those who went down with herTheir lives passed them in a blinkWomen wives and childrenWere ushered on life boatsSome in sheer desperationTrying to stay afloatMen tried to show their bravery They tried to remain strongWhile praying for their lives To get home where they belongAlas not all made it backNot all lived to tell the taleSadly the Titanic, Was to be their final sailAnd so this ship of beautyThis glorious work of art She's now owned by the oceanForever breaking heartsShe's gone but not forgotten She's still causing hurt and pain She's still a deadly beautyStill taking lives againShe called out from the oceanAnd in a submarine they lookedFor her centurary old remnantsAs fanatics, they were hookedBut that journey, like TitanicOnce considered oh so magic, Ended in disaster, Ended oh so tragicThey lost communication And seemed to go of the radarNobody could find themNobody knowing where they areThey searched and searched the oceanAnd they found the subs debrisThe time it had run out for themA rescue not to be. One hundred and eleven years now passed —The Titanic wreckage strikes againAnd pulls into the ocean, The souls of those five men. May they rest in peace.
