Take Time...
We think we are giving of our time until we think of the times we are not...
In this life so full of care, We have no time to stop and stareTo stop and stare and spend some time, Before we cross the finish lineWe have no time to catch our breathWith constant worries, constant stress, We have no time to spend a whileTo give five minutes to a child, Or spend time listening to the groansOf that wee pensioner on her ownWe push, we shove, we rush, we runBefore our day has just begunWhile beggers sit hungry at our feet, We're rushing past them as we eatBy choices made, and some by chanceWe barely spare them sideways glance. We pay our bills, we heat our homes, While folk are freezing on their ownThe roses bloom, with petals swellWe have no time to stop and smell We have no time to stop and smell... But what would happen if we did? If we just STOPPED — God forbid! If mums sat down, dishes in the sink, To help a child to play and thinkTo play a game of hide and seek, While dinners cooking, at its peakIf you took time-out to make that call, To check on neighbours, one and allOr if, when wandering in the town, You spoke to those who's luck was down; You may have worries, this is true But there's always one —Who's worse than you The roses bloom, the petals swell —Let's take the time, to stop and smell.
