Sometimes unconditional isn't a two way thing.

I knew what it felt like to love like a mother does, long before I was a mother, because I loved you like you were my own. I loved you more than I loved anyone, I loved you with a love I never thought possible. I couldn't have loved you anymore, had you actually been, my own child. I couldn’t have loved you anymore than if I had given birth to you myself. You were my little world. My little ray of sunshine. And I adored you.  I remember when I fell pregnant, I worried I wouldn't love this child that I carried, the way that I loved you, for I honestly couldn't imagine loving anyone the way that I loved you.  But I did. I loved him with every bit of my heart, like a mother loves her first born, like a mother loves her next born, like a mother loves... Unconditionally.  I remember telling you this at your dads graduation celebrations. You said: "That was then, this is now"Because the year's had put distance between us.  And because unconditionally — only applies to a mothers love.
