Lost

This photo sits on the fireplace in my brothers house. It was taken at the forestry beside my mums old home place when she was young, growing up in Ireland. I feel it draws me in every time I see it.

Trying to find a way through life,is like trying to find a way out of a forest. It looks beautiful.  Inviting.  And curiosity whispers to usso softly, that we can't help succum to her charms.  But curiosity was devious.  Remember —it killed the cat.  And still, we don't learn from that.  We carry on despite knowing this.  And we can see clearly, when we walk in. We can see through the trees, and see the daylight of the sky. And for some parts,it is almost therapeutic.  But somewhere along the path, we lose our bearings; The deeper and deeper we go, the more we lose ourselves.  And everything looks the same. We become overwhelmed; The trees begin to close in, like night, draws in on day. The blue sky— no longer visible. There is a sense of vulnerability, and we panic we are lost.  That's how I felt when you left — Lost.  Like a little child in a clothes shop, who had let go of her mothers hand... Except —The forest is much scarier.  And there is no chance of you coming to look for me.
