You listen when I'm mournfulYou listen when I'm gladYou lot have turned out to beThe best of friends I've had. Sure, others come and go in lifeAnd many, they will stayBut I have never told them allThe things you hear me sayYou lot know me outside inAnd you know me inside outYou know what makes me tick And what I'm all about. You know I can be grumpy And you know when it's a jokeYou know when I want to bathe in wordsAnd when I just want to soak. You know I think you're brilliantAnd of your work I am in aweIt's better than the stuff in shopsOf any books I've saw. You're all so very different And yet you each are all the sameYou all keep writing brilliant stuff I'll read again, again, again.
