Seize 'The Now' Today
We are always thinking about tomorrow, or dwelling on the past. So much so that we forget to live in the now. Each moment that passes is a 'now' that has gone. How many 'nows' can we let slip away before we simply... slip away?
Life is always happening A life unlived is very rareIt's all we think and say and doIt's happening everywhere We're always moving forwardsWe're never going backTime is something in our livesThat our living never lacks Except time goes on beyond us And began before us tooOur lives and all our living Yesterday's old, tomorrow's new We cannot borrow from tomorrow We cannot stop or pause the pastWe cannot store up all our presentsThese hands of time move on too fast And so we must just keep on living And when that living stops or endsWe pass on our relay batons To our younger, fitter friends Towards their end with no beginning An end beyond infinityBeyond the bright ideas of future Not even futurists can see Look up at night towards the starsOur naked eyes can't take us thereEven powerful space based telescopesCannot lay the future bare If we gaze too long towards the stars We may find tomorrow's stars all goneIn our pursuit to find our futures Our future's often just move on Wake early and watch the sunriseA new beginning everyday No need to borrow from tomorrowSimply seize 'the now', today
