Between The Sun and Moon
A poem about borrowed light
Stood between the Sun and MoonUnder wings upon a hillThe coldest day of winterThe earth was dark and still The side on which the sun roseTurned shades of pink and goldThe side on which the moon did grow:A purple sky: as night grew old Like the centre of a compass At the dawning of the dayI saw things in her smiling eyesAnd knew she was 'the way' I imagined we were dancingAnd controlled the coloured skiesThat the sun and moon were watching usThe stars earth's ocean's eyes You are the way through night and dayAnd somewhere inbetweenBeneath the wings where morning singsTo a future not yet seen
