A Peopleless Place

Becoming used to my own company

I often sitAlone in this space Life is so quiet In a peopleless place I push out the silenceWith a podcast or twoFill up my timeWith routines I go through Get myself outsideTake the dog for a walkStrangers become friendsAnd trend as they talk I split up my day By the meals that I eatComfort myselfWith some sort of treat  Break down into sectionsThe hours that pass byI find in this way Time's more likely to fly I cherish the minutes The hours and the daysI fill up my time In so many ways I'm becoming quite selfishI like who I amI won't give as much timeTo those who don't give a damm I prioritise sleepI look after myself Plenty of exercise And good mental health  The silence I sit withIs becoming a friendThe noise I shut outHas come to an end  Somewhere inside meI've changed once againMuch closer than everTo the me from back then
