Cruel Morning

A bite of light jabs jagged through my eyeSword spit slicing a careless curtain crackCruely the morning jeers my sleepless brain  To taunt my migraneous misery. UpTrills the blackbird, but his song is wasted In this pit, silence is my only friend.  Time wades through a morass, each second Stuck to a pounding in my skull, gumming minutes stretch achingly dressed as hours.
