The child within

Some grow old as they go through lifecollecting things as time goes byeStatues and menall going firmas they juggle life on every turnbut me I look to the skythe light blue massas in the distance something is coming to passthe excitement buildsmy eyes fixed upthat possibility of something new beginsthe hum grows strongerthe feeling does not easeI now know its a helicopter behind those treesIs it new is it something differentI tell myself with the exited existencelike a boy who never sleeps before an important eventThe hum is near, loud now what hsall it beSomething seems strange as its drawing nearer the treethen it appears louder than everbut its the same old helicopter the excitement is not as cleveras I tell myself tomorrow will be differentSee I am in my 50s but I have a child withinone that gets excited over the simplest of thingsmaybe tomorrow comes and a new engine in the airwhere I feel something newto fix my excitable starebut one thing I know I like seeing any soI lift my head whenever I canso I am ready for a show.
