Let it Go Through to the Keeper

As an Aussie I watch a fair bit of cricket. I was always intrigued when the commentator tells the batsman to let a ball go through to the keeper. Works in life, too - and how!

When troubles assail and dangers affright,Let ‘em go through to the Keeper. Those worries that keep you up half the night?Let ‘em go through to the Keeper. The maybes, the might haves, the ought-have-said-thats,Those worries and troubles, they’re like little rats,But don’t take a swing at ‘em with your bat,Let it go through to the Keeper. When bullies give you a hard time at work,Let ‘em go through to the Keeper.Don’t stew over them, you know they’re a jerk,Let it go through to the Keeper. The drivers in traffic who get in your way,Those folk who are dead set on having their say,Don’t relive it all at the end of the day,Let it go through to the Keeper. When life bowls a mountain of trouble your wayLet it go through to the Keeper.Don’t feel you must hit it; just tell yourself, “Hey,Let it go through to the Keeper.”What’s happened is over, you cannot change that.No use flailing around with your bat,Memories that bubble up? Just stand pat,Let ‘em go through to the Keeper. There’ll always be worries and troubles in life.Let ‘em go through to the Keeper. When you’ve full up to here, you’ve had enough strife,Let it go through to the Keeper,Oh, it’ll take practice not to go swing,Get on with your life and not change a thing,Ignore the hassles! Remind yourself! Sing,“Let it go through to the Keeper.”
