Carter Called Again.

I did this for writing group. One of Brian Bilston's rejected first lines, we were challenged to make something of it. For me, that's like a red rag to a bull!

Carter called again today, enquiring of his ladder.Murphy wants his six-inch paintbrush too.McInnes needs his tarp again, and Jones that stirring tool;I tell you mate, they’re all on to you. They know how you procrastinate, defer, delay and dither.Just do the job, return the tools, and come back hither. Carter called again today, enquiring of his ladder.O’Halloran, he wants his loppers too.McIver needs those secateurs, Evans his grafting knife – I tell you mate; this really will not do!They know how you procrastinate, defer, delay and dither. While everything around you can just go and wither. Carter called AGAIN today, demanding back his ladder.Says next time he’ll bring the bailiff too. You’re never here to deal with him, it all comes back to me.The others? Well, they need their stuff back too. They know how you procrastinate, defer, delay and dither. But all you do is sit around and play that zither! Carter called again today, came and took his ladder.Bailiff had some muscle on him too.Assistants had a list of all the stuff that wasn’t yours.Gave it back before you could say boo!If you’re not going to use it, don’t borrowDon’t keep all their stuff in your shed.Always be quick to return things -Or Carter’ll come for your head!
