Mad as a march hare

Theres madness in my methods The inkblots did declare My psychological profile I did without a care I am somewhat obsessive Of that there is no doubt My iq test was off the charts Left them to sort that out  Genius or madness The lines too fine to tread Maybe they should call iteccessentricity instead Somewhat anti socialA hermit I could be Like to spend my time outdoors Not quite living in a tree  At one with mother nature No creatures come to harmWhenever they cross my pathThey never get alarmed Something of a quiet soulI guess that I have got Just dont ever wind me up In case I lose the plot  No I'm not bi polar But I do talk to myself When my subconscious answers back It improves my inner self Dont really care what others think I'm just not built that way I'm really quite kind hearted But dont have much to say  When I'm writing poetry It can be quite profound Or just a running commentary Of what's happening around I do this for your benefit Not to praise myself It needs an active audience Dont leave it on the shelf  Theres madness in my methods I dont play by their rules I chose my education Not bribed my way through schools My working life was so intense Never had much sleepRealised it made no sense So took a giant leap For many years stayed off the gridDoing my own thing Slept in Van's away from home When I did my market gig But recently my family Reaching out to me A catalyst to join the fold At least emotionally  So now I practise poetry Some decent words on hand I have a wide vocabularySome wouldn't understand So when I'm writing what I see I let the rhythm flow Type it out straight on the phone Then quickly let it go  Warts and all the naked truth Is there for you to seeI don't pull any punches Because in my mind I'm free I'm no body's puppet Or governmental stooge And if you try to take the mickI can be rather rude  But weird is the new normalAt least that's what I'm told Good job you've never met me Even though I'm rather old My brain goes off on tangents Sometimes not even there Can be quite a strange old fishOr mad as a march hare Copyright 22062020
