Riding the currents of the deep Always hungry constantly eat No other creature dares to eat me My skin is armoured and boney you seethe chameleon of the coral reefChange my decor against the reliefCan change my colour at a whimFloat around cos Its hard to swim A long curly tail to stay in one spot Cling to the coral with all that I've got Met my girlfriend now shes my wife Unlike most humans we mate for life I'm the incubator shes the boss So many kids lots do get lost When they're born they float in the sea Born with no colour transparent you see I keep the eggs comfy tucked up in a pouch Once they are hatched they come streaming out Were not a close family they go on their way Some live round the corner some miles away My cousins a dragon I kid you not Just like me though hell stay near one spot Sometimes he looks just like the sea weedBut as weve no stomach he constantly feedsThe local reef is our ok corralWith trigger and damsel and parrot as pals Can you imagine why I ride this course I am hippocampus or just a seahorse I'm no hippo nor part of your brain But hippo kampus was my name Kampus .. sea monster from the GreekHippo .. horse (that's a relief)An original workCopyright 17062020
