In my own words (George Floyd)
I only came here for cigarettes,And a can of ice teaDidn’t mean to get you crossDidn’t think you’d take it out on me.I tried to pay with my credit cardBut that happened to be declinedSo I paid with bits of shrapnel I didn’t hand you my behind! Then i walked outside and the sun was shiningBut a gun was pointing at my face!I haven’t done anything wrong officerHave I been a civil disgrace? Before I knew it I was on the floorPoliceman’s knee resting on my neckI would have gone with him respectfullyIf he had only gave me a sec! Who knew going to the shopWould be the last journey I’d ever takeI wasn’t trying to be no fraud Nothing I had on me was fake.“I cant breath sir, can I have some water” I saidAnd then I pleaded for my mum,Asked the policeman to give me a reprieve And yet he gave me none. There were people all around telling him to stopThey were filming him as wellSomeone told him to arrest me properlyHe told them all “Go to hell!”"I can’t breath" I repeatedUntil I took my last breath"I want my mum" I said at lastAnd then; I greeted death.
